Shaping tomorrow's tourism together
On 19 October 2024, the members of Alpine Pearls met for the Annual General Meeting in Bohinj, Slovenia, to discuss the future of sustainable tourism under the motto ‘Shaping Tourism, Securing Tomorrow’. The day before, the participants explored the natural treasures and soft mobility offers of the host town of Bohinj and were guided through the history of local tourism and the challenges of the Triglav National Park by Klemen Langus.
An inspiring start and strategic planning
Michael Oberhofer, Managing Director of Alpine Pearls, opened the meeting and reported on the challenges and successes of recent years. He motivated the members to continue to actively contribute to the vision of sustainable quality tourism: ‘Only through our joint commitment can we firmly establish Alpine Pearls as a leading brand in sustainable tourism.’
Exchange and insights into pioneering projects
The event offered members the opportunity to present ongoing projects and concepts for sustainable mobility and regionally adapted tourism. The focus was also on exciting EU projects such as ‘BeyondSnow’ and ‘Reactive Youth’, which reflected the diversity and innovative strength of the pearls. External experts rounded off the programme with insights into sustainable ski tourism and the importance of regional energy communities.
The eventful weekend ended with a final excursion to the Soriška Planina ski resort, where the summer utilisation of Alpine ski resorts was discussed.
