The Pearl
The heart of the Dolomites - what an incredibly inviting prospect for a superb holiday! The delightful village of Collepietra has a beautiful location perched on a sunny mountain terrace 823 m above sea level at the centre of the superb Alpine region the Dolomites. The magnificent view from here extends across the Eisacktal valley, to the Ritten and with the finest the Dolomites have to offer to the east - the high peaks panorama of the Catinaccio and the Schlern. Stretch your legs - there is no feeling like it! Collepietra is so easy to get to with public transport: the train will take you straight to the provincial capital of South Tyrol. Service buses leave 12 times a day from Bolzano to Collepietra only 14 km away. More than this, your host will be happy to collect you from the railway station in Bolzano.
Soft mobility in the pearl
There is an hourly bus connection offering bidirectional trips between Deutschnofen, Welschnofen / Karerpass, Steinegg and Bozen. Furthermore, there are six connections a day between St. Zyprian via Karerpass, Welschnofen, Birchabruck, Eggen, Obereggen, Deutschnofen, Petersberg and Weissenstein. Every two hours there is a bus leaving for Vigo di Fassa. 24 hours a day tourists can also make use of a Taxi-by-call service. Mountainbikes can be borrowed for free. In winter you can choose between 4 different ski-lifts.
Holidays without your car – take advantage of the „Mobilcard“: the 7-day-ticket (8 Euro) for Eggental and the surroundings is available at your hotel or at the local tourist office. The “Mobilcard Südtirol Mitte” includes all public means of transport within Wipptal, Eisacktal, Etschtal and Unterland. The “museumobil Card” includes 7 days of free bus and train rides plus free entrance to 83 museums in South Tyrol.
Special soft mobility services
Relax to perfection far from the annoyances of traffic and mass tourism! Some 100 km of paths to walk in Collepietra alone and a further 600 km in the vicinity means you have simply unlimited fun and discovery ahead of you. Collepietra Tourism Association offers horse-drawn coach trips and guided walks to among many other points, the Collepietraer earth pyramids, to Cornedo Castle or South Tyrol's only observatory. Traditional events, concerts and entertainment are provided for lively social life in the evenings.
